Fragrance of the Year

Fragrance of the Year nominees are evaluated based on fragrance, marketing strategy, packaging and advertising.

Eligibility: All fragrances launched in the U.S. from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018.

This award will be given at The Fragrance Foundation Awards on June 5, 2019.

Indie Fragrance of the Year

This award recognizes a fragrance created by a brand sold by fewer than 100 stores or e-tailers in the U.S.

Eligibility: Indie fragrances launched in the U.S. from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018. Entry must be submitted by the brand, not by a distributor. Only 1 entry per company is permitted in this category.

This category is judged by an expert panel.

This award will be given at The Finalists’ Luncheon on Friday, April 5, 2019.

Nominate

Packaging of the Year

Nominees are evaluated based on bottle design, packaging and graphics. Only new designs are eligible for this award.

Eligibility: All fragrances launched in the U.S. from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018.

This award will be given at The Fragrance Foundation Awards on June 5, 2019.

Media Campaign of the Year

This award honors the best use of an all-around marketing campaign by a brand and are judged based on innovative concept and resonance. It is judged on concept and execution of a marketing campaign that hits all of the consumer touch points — advertising, public relations, social, print, television, online and in-store.

Eligibility: The submission can be for a fragrance launched between January 1, 2018 and December 31,  2018, or for a campaign released between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018 for an existing fragrance.

This award will be given at The Fragrance Foundation Awards on June 5, 2019.

Social Media Campaign of the Year

This award honors the best use of social media by a brand. It is judged on concept and execution on social media channels and resonance of the message.

Eligibility: The submission can be for a fragrance launched between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018, or for a campaign released between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018 for an existing fragrance.

This category is judged by an expert panel.

This award will be given at The Fragrance Foundation Awards on June 5, 2019.

Fragrance Hall of Fame

This award recognizes a fragrance classic that has achieved legendary status. All submissions will be reviewed for accuracy before placement on the voting ballot.

Eligibility: Fragrances that have been available in the U.S. for 15 years or more (released no later than 2003).

This award will be given at The Fragrance Foundation Awards on June 5, 2019.

Non-member entry fee: $2500

This award will be voted on by voting members of The Fragrance Foundation.

Perfume Extraordinaire

This award recognizes the actual fragrance or olfactive creation. Nominees are evaluated based on craftsmanship and aesthetic beauty.

Eligibility: All fragrances launched in the U.S. from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018.

This award will be given at The Fragrance Foundation Awards on June 5, 2019.

PLEASE NOTE: Company Eligibility: Only companies who employ an in-house perfumer are eligible to nominate a fragrance for this category.

This category is judged by an expert panel.

Breakout Star Award

This award honors a fragrance that has been on the market between three and six years and has grown to be a breakout star, demonstrating consecutive growth years since launch.  

Eligibility: Fragrance must have been released in the U.S. between January 1, 2012 and December 31, 2015.

This award will be given at The Finalists’ Luncheon on Friday, April 5, 2019.

Home Collection of the Year

Nominees are evaluated on fragrance, packaging and product innovation.

Eligibility: Collections launched in the U.S. from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018. Collections must include more than one of any of the following: Candles, potpourri, diffusers and other significant interior scent applications.

This award will be given at The Fragrance Foundation Awards on June 5, 2019.

Bath & Body Collection of the Year

Nominees are evaluated on fragrance, packaging and product innovation.

Eligibility: The full collection must have launched in the U.S. from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018. Collections must include two different forms of product (i.e. soap, shower gel, body lotion, bath salts, body scrub, body splash, deodorant spray, etc.).

This award will be given at The Fragrance Foundation Awards on June 5, 2019.

Home Holiday / Seasonal Fragrance Product of the Year

Nominees are evaluated on fragrance, packaging and product innovation.

Eligibility: All Home Holiday or Seasonal Fragrance Products launched in the U.S. from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018 whose formulation and packaging are created specifically for a holiday celebrated in the United States or a seasonal fragrance product.  Only home items are eligible for this award.

This award will be given at The Finalists’ Luncheon on Friday, April 5, 2019.

Consumer Choice

Consumer Choice (Men’s, Women’s Prestige (Over $71 per 100ml) & Women’s Popular (up to $70 per 100ml) )

The Fragrance Foundation Consumer Choice Award represents the voice of American consumers and names their favorite fragrances — Men’s, Women’s Prestige (Over $71 per 100ml) & Women’s Popular (up to $70 per 100ml) ). 

Eligibility: All fragrances launched in the U.S. from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018.

This award will be given at The Fragrance Foundation Awards on June 5, 2019.

Consumer Choice - Fragrance Influencer of the Year

This award honors a creative fragrance influencer with significant reach through social media. It is judged on concept and execution, fragrance storytelling, resonance of message and reach throughout their body of work in 2018. 

Eligibility: All fragrance social media influencers with content posted in the U.S. from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018.

Consumers will have the opportunity to vote for finalists in this category in Spring 2019.

This award will be given at The Fragrance Foundation Awards on June 5, 2019.

Editorial Excellence in Fragrance Coverage

These awards are judged based on originality, creativity, accuracy and content in the following categories:

Print Feature (over 500 words)

Print Article (250-500 words)

Online

Eligibility: Content that appeared in print or online between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018.

This category is judged by an expert panel.

These awards will be given at The Finalists’ Luncheon on Friday, April 5, 2019.
